Glycine is an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, especially in the spine. After glycine receptor (GlyR) is activated by glycine, chloride ions enter nerve cells through the receptor and lead to the inhibitory postsynaptic potential. The small molecule chemical drug can specifically enhance the activity of glycine receptor and produce hyperpolarization inhibitory synaptic effect, thus having an anticonvulsive effect in treating diseases, like infantile convulsion, caused by glycine receptor function deletion mutation. At present, drug screening and in vitro physiological characteristics research have been completed, and a global patent application is planned for submission. Subsequently, the therapeutic effects of drugs in vivo will be tested on animal disease models.
